Sunday, Febraury 27

Hi family,
I set up this site so we could record what we know about Todd and his progress.  I hope you will enjoy using this as a means of communications.  I called him this morning and he seemed in reasonable spirits.  There was no signs of regret or that he was wanting to leave -- which I find very encouraging!  He had trouble sleeping but in the information I brought home, that is to be expected and they will give him something for that tonight.  It is important that he gets enough sleep.  His doctor told him they would give him something tonight.  Scott is bringing him some clothes and hopefully his books to read.   I plan on going to see him later this afternoon.

You can call him at 402-481-5952 and ask for him.  They page him and he comes out of his room to answer the phone.

Have a great Sunday.  :)  Love, Tausha

  1. John and I went to see Todd around 3:00 this afternoon. He was sound asleep, so we didn't wake him. We left him a note and some girl scout cookies.I still think we need to post some affirmations on his walls so he can read them everyday...if it is permissable to put sticky notes on the walls. We can ask first.

  2. I was going to go but didn't make it. We had company from Texas until 7:45 p.m. tonight. I called him and he said he has slept all day. He is still okay -- no mention of getting out!

I am going to stop about 5:30 p.m. tomorrow.

  3. I called him at about noon and he had company so they didn't get him. Then I called at about 2 and he came to the phone but they had to wake him. They didn't tell me he did and I said go back to sleep if you think you will be awake around 4 I will stop by but he said he just wanted to sleep and I said no problem you need your rest I can come tomorrow. But he sounded good. They gave him something to help him sleep. He was enjoying the sleep he said. later,

  4. Monday, February 28 (yes, I can spell February)

I went to see Todd tonight after work and Tamera and Lindsay were there also. We stayed while he ate his dinner. He looks so much better. He moves like he is sore -- which might be part of the detox or part of the physical fight he had with Scott Friday night. I am not sure. He is worried about getting home to sell his motorcycle so he can pay his monthly bills. I suggested that we could pay them for him out of the money at Great Western (formerly Tier One) then he could concentrate on getting well.

My concern is that he will go home and continue with outpatient care and get caught up with Scott and the drama there. I just don't think he can get well in that environment. I was up front with him about that and told him what I thought.

If you talk with him and have the opportunity to discuss it, please let him know how important this opportunity is for him to get well. If you agree with me on the outpatient vs. inpatient care, let him know.

I think he will be able to come to terms with his demons if he pursues inpatient care and really addresses his problems.

He said he doesn't like being locked up but I don't think if he decided to not continue with the program that he could get out. I don't think they will keep against his will. They just don't want them coming and going at will.

Libby pointed out that he is already locked up with the alcohol addition and drug dependency because he misses so many family functions and is trapped at home. An interesting perspective that we could mention to him.

Sorry this got so long! I hope we find out more about what they will recommend for him tomorrow. Take care,
    love, Tausha

  5. I wasn't able to make it yesterday but will stop by and see him today. Do you know if they plan on releasing him soon?

I know when Tausha and I were there on Monday he was determined then to only do out patient. he is afraid nothing will get done at home. Bills, house, dogs that stuff. Don't have much to add to Tausha's.
Except he did look and act better. Not so nervous. Even laughed some. I think he thinks it will be like it is there because some of the people there have totally different issues than his. later

  6. Hi family,
Todd went home today and is going to try and get into the Lutheran Services outpatient care program. I am disappointed but at this point it is not within my control. I told him that I would be a bird on his shoulder trying to keep him on the right path.

I am really worried about him going into the same environment that put in the hospital.

Please call him as much as can and if you think his is drinking or doing other drugs, we need to address it immediately.

Please communicate on this blog so I know what you might be thinking.

    Love ya -- Tausha

  7. I spoke to Todd on the phone a couple of times since he has been out. Last night he got a mechanic to come look at his car. Said he does not think it is a servere as Scott said. Needs to get it towed to the guy's house so he can work on it. He thinks Tripp might be able to help him this weekend if he has a tow rope/chain.
He said he is not smoking or drinking.
Tausha has helped him get his resume together and he is applying for some jobs.
